Recruitment Process

This section provides you with a brief outline of the recruitment process and how we would work together with you to ensure a successful outcome. Whether you require a permanent member of staff, or contract or temporary, here you will find the information you need to complete the recruitment process.

Job Specification 

The Role and Benefits Package

We would require a full and detailed specification of the role in question, the tasks, duties, responsibilities and experience required. We would require full details of the goals, objectives, KPIs and expectations of the role and all reporting information. We would also require an outline of the company benefits package and anticipated salary.

The Department

We would require a detailed profile of the department, its function within the company, its responsibilities and objectives, the team or number of people in the department, their duties and the management and reporting structure.

The Person

The type of person required, their minimum academic requirements, technical ability, software knowledge, leadership skills, track record, industry experience, commercial experience and any other attribute essential for this role.

In addition to a full and detailed job specification we would also need to visit your premises to see first-hand your working environment and facilities. This visit is essential, in our view, as we feel that by visiting our clients and seeing the place of work and meeting the members of staff,  we are better equipped when endeavouring to find the perfect team fit.


Although it is ultimately the client’s responsibility to take up references on their chosen candidates, as part of our own stringent selection process all candidates are referenced upon registration.

Background Checking

We also subscribe to an accredited company who provide us with different levels of security screening. Depending on the nature of your business certain screening processes could be essential.

Examples of records checks are as follows: MOD, CRB, political activity such as animal welfare, international trading, history of anti-social behaviour, history of illegal activity and general abuse of confidentiality.

Search and Selection

We have our own database of screened and referenced candidates, networking colleagues, recommendations, internet job boards and social media. When we have identified suitable candidates we put them through our 3 point selection process as outlined in our About Us section.

When a suitable shortlist has been selected you are presented with fully briefed and keen individuals who are ready for interview.

After first interview we ask for immediate feedback so as to keep our candidates interested and fully informed. This is also essential after second interview and eventual offer.


In the many years that bbu has been operating in the recruitment market we have had various testing and training systems in-house to ensure that we were able to verify candidates’ abilities in software, secretarial and administrative tasks. With the many changes in technology we have recently partnered with a company that specialises in testing and training on all new software packages as well as the standard Microsoft Office and general office software.

We are finding, on a daily basis, that demands are increasing for knowledge of the many and varied new software packages dealing with accountancy, logistics, sales, supply chain, analytical etc. and realise that this in itself is a specialist area. Our decision to subscribe to a company, whose specialisation is keeping on top of this market, is the ideal way of our ensuring that we have the facilities to offer our clients a state of the art service and the ability to meet their every need as and when required.
